SUMMARY:BSN City Group/Linklaters - Inspired to Succeed: Being a change maker with Gina Miller - 9 October 2019
DESCRIPTION:Inspired to Succeed – Black History Month \n \n\n \n  \nOctober is Black History Month. To mark the occasion\, the Black Solicitors Network (City Branch) and Linklaters are delighted to invite you to an evening event entitled “Inspired to Succeed: Being a change maker”. \n \n  \nGuest speaker: Gina Miller\n \n  \nBloomberg described Gina Miller as an “Establishment Wrecking Ball” but she states that her drive for transparency\, scrutiny and integrity is about reform\, not wrecking. Her expertise and areas of work cover investments\, charities\, democracy and political processes; as well as social justice. \n \n  \nPost the financial crisis\, Gina and her husband Alan founded SCM Direct as a modern digital wealth manager centred on transparency\, low cost and putting clients first. \n \n  \nIn 2012\, Gina co-launched the True and Fair Campaign\, calling for an end to dubious practices in the investment and pension industry. Gina’s campaigning resulted in contributions to three EU Directives. \n \n  \nIn 2016\, Gina successfully challenged the UK Government over its authority to implement Brexit\, winning in both the High Court and Supreme Court in what is hailed as the most important British constitutional case since the 1700s. \n \n  \nAt the end of August 2018\, Gina published her first book “Rise: Life Lessons in Speaking Out\, Standing Tall and Leading the Way”. \n \n  \nWe hope that you can join us for what promises to be an inspiring and fascinating discussion where Gina will share her experiences as a business leader\, campaigner and change maker. \n \n  \nDate: Wednesday 9 October 2019 \n \n  \nTimings: \n  \n18:30 Registration and refreshments \n19:00 Discussion\, followed by Q&A \n20:30 Networking with drinks and canapes \n \n  \nVenue: Linklaters Auditorium One Silk Street London EC2Y 8HQ \n \n  \nRSVP: Please register by using this link: REGISTER.  The deadline for registration is 5pm Monday 7 October.  This email is personalised\, please do not forward on. \n \n  \n\nThis event has limited spaces available\, so we encourage you to register early to avoid disappointment – BSN City Group members will be given priority.  Bookings for this event may close early as a result.
